Cyberpunk 2077: A Futuristic World of Crime and Technology

Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CD PROJEKT RED, is an action-packed science fiction game set in the year 2077 in the fictional city of Night City, California. The game is loosely based on the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2020, and it features a world of advanced cybernetic augmentations that enhance people's abilities. The game is a single-player experience that allows players to fully customize their main protagonist, V, including their sex and appearance.

The game is set in a world where corporations rule the city and many people are left poor and homeless due to robots taking over jobs. The adventure game features an underground world full of black markets, underground surgeons, drug dealers, and street gangs. The gameplay allows players to travel across the city by foot or using various vehicles, with a variety of character customization options including three character classes and augmentations to enhance V's abilities. The game features a first-person view with third-person cutscenes.

What is Cyberpunk 2077?

As the name suggests, Cyberpunk takes place in the year 2077 in a make-believe city called Night City. Owing to several wars and climate change, the world in 2077 is devastated beyond repair. Necessities like water and food are hard to find, and the wildlife is almost extinct. To survive the planet and the increasing number of cyberattacks, humans rely on high-tech implants and body modifications.

Night City is a megalopolis located somewhere in California. It is home to celebrities and business tycoons, as well as drug dealers, mercenaries, and criminals. This city is divided into several distinct areas, each with its unique look. You start as V, a mercenary that someone hires when they need something done, or want someone to disappear.

Most everyone that resides in Night City is obsessed with glamour, power, and body enhancements. While the City Center houses the rich and powerful, areas like Pacifica and Watson are reserved for those less fortunate. Your character is free to explore this vast city, drive around its lanes, and complete missions to increase your property and chances of survival.

Almost completed with Update 2.0

Cyberpunk 2077 was widely panned by players and critics when it was first released. However, it has slowly recovered with minor patches and updates over time. With the massive Update 2.0, fans are saying that CD Projekt Red has finally realized what the game was meant to be. Major changes include new animations and mechanics. These apply particularly to vehicle combat and car chase sequences. Also, expect a revamped city police system, and improved combat AI capabilities.

Aside from general quality-of-life changes, the new patch also reworked the cyberware and capacity systems, so get ready to reorganize and remodel your character. Another major addition to the game is new radio stations, including a community station hosted by author and actress Sasha Grey. However, all these exciting changes come at a cost. The system requirements have increased, and now only supports SSD for storage. Similarly, the devs strongly recommend the removal of any mods before updating.

Cyberpunk 2077 Keeps Wowing Fans - Flaws and All!

Despite a rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to keep players hooked worldwide. With tons of updates and bug fixes, the game's experience has definitely improved, but it's still got a way to go before it reaches that polished perfection. Even so, the incredible world and storyline have kept fans engaged and excited to see what's next for this open-world action adventure.
